Participant Age Range
May 6th, 2018 to September 16th, 2018
August 18th, 2018 to September 22nd, 2018
The Sunday Night Co-Ed Slo-Pitch League (SNCSPL) was created in 2002. It is an adult recreational co-ed slo-pitch league, afilliated with Slo-Pitch National (SPN). The league is divided into divisions, based on caliber of play, ranging from "D" to "F".
The regular season starts near the beginning of May, and games are played every Sunday (except long weekends) at The Barrie Sports Complex, across from Springwater Park, in Midhurst, until near the end of August.
Regular scheduled game times are 5:00pm, 6:15pm, 7:30pm & 8:45pm. A complete season consists of 12-14 games and the league concludes with a one-day playoff tournament. Games commence in May and the one-day playoff tournament is scheduled near the end of August, consistently on the weekend before the SPN Co-ed Provincial weekend.
Approximate cost for each team is $1500 - $1700, which includes:
Park costs, balls, line-up cards, SPN insurance, all umpire fee's, entry fee into SPN June "The Zones" tournament (which is mandatory for all teams), and entry fee into the SNCSPL one-day playoff tournament. Actual cost per team will be determined during off-season league meetings. Cost for individual players will vary...depending on what is included (team sponsorship, etc.)
Scores: Both teams must report the scores to the Executive, upon completion of the game - within 24 hours.
Bat Rule: A legal bat in the SNCSPL 2018 season and our SPN June 'The Zones', August 18 & September 22 tournament(s) must have the Thumbprint stamp (2018) - USSSA 1.20 BPF. All bats that do NOT have the thumbprint are illegal.
As per the SPN rule - Penalty for using an illegal bat is ejection from the game for player and coach!
Deadlines: June 1 is the deadline for players to have matching jersey's...or they cannot play! (a letter of exemption from Executive is needed otherwise). Our umpires will be monitoring this.
Also, as of June 1, rosters are frozen!! Any additions to your roster after this date MUST be done through the Executive.
Using players that are NOT on your roster may result in suspensions for player and/or coach.
Rain Outs: All games are "on" unless:
Usually by 3pm or earlier - The City of Barrie will contact the Executive on game day, if the diamonds/fields are unplayable. The notice of cancellation will be posted on this website immediately.
If the cancellation notice is after 3pm, the Executive will make every effort possible to contact team reps to inform them of cancellation.
